As soon as they stepped out of the room, the door slid closed behind them. A shiver crawled through both of their spines. Felix shined the lamp around in order to see his surroundings. The walls were elegantly wallpapered and paintings of sunny scenery were hung everywhere.
“Who do you think kidnapped us?” Pewds suddenly said out loud.
“I don't know, let's just find this kitchen.” Cry calmly answered, even though he was beginning to lose his shit.
“Alright, I think I see a light down the hallway.”
The light, which seemed to be coming from an open doorway, had not seemed so far from where they had been standing, but traveling there took much longer. To them, it felt like they were walking for at least 20 minutes. Maybe it was just their imagination, but it seemed as if the paintings were repeating as well. Cry, taking up the rear, could not help but think there was someone, or something, watching them as they walked. The feeling was growing stronger until suddenly he felt someone exhale on the hairs on the back of his neck.
“What was that!” he exclaimed, instinctively grabbing onto Pewds and spinning around. “I thought I heard someone behind us.”
“Stop freaking out man, this isn't a game, you're letting your imagination get the best of you.” Pewds was surprisingly calm, but his face suddenly became pale. The sound of heavy footsteps could be heard running past them and towards the room they had started in.
“What the fuck was that?” Cry whispered, not wanting to draw attention to whoever or whatever was in the hallway with them.
“Let's just keep going.” Pewds tried being calm, but the realization of being trapped in this unfamiliar place was beginning to make him feel claustrophobic.
They finally reached the open door and walked into a kitchen painted with warm shades of yellow and green. There was another sliding door and it closed behind them as soon as they stepped onto the kitchen tiles. There was a window in the kitchen, but all you could see out of it was forest and Cry got a weird feeling that it wasn't real. As if staring out the window, he was actually staring at a tv screen. Felix noticed that the curtains had sunflowers on them, the irony of this entire room made him sick to his stomach. Claws began scratching on the sliding door, but the sound wasn't loud enough for either of them to notice it.
“Look, there's the aspirin.” Cry pointed to the wooden kitchen table.
“Ha, the chairs say Mr. and Mrs. Chair,” Cry couldn't tell if Felix had just laughed. As he picked up the note that was placed there he couldn't help feeling like he was in some twisted fairy tale. He read aloud.
Dear Cry and Pewdie,
You've made it! I hope my pets didn't give you too much of a scare. Don't worry, they're actually very sweet, their hunger gets the best of them though. Anyway, this kitchen has tons of aspirin and medicine if you two ever feel ill, but it also is stocked full of food so make yourselves at home. Also, don't be afraid to explore, I've hidden many secrets for you two to figure out.
Signed, your generous host.
Cry couldn't contain his anger and crumpled up the note.
Felix was shaking. “Fuck you! Let us go, this isn't funny!” he began to yell.
“Shut up! You don't know if what's out there can hear us, let alone 'our generous host'.” Cry's words calmed Felix a little, but his anger boiled up again when he noticed the red light of a camera in the one of the corners.
“If they can't fucking hear us, they sure as hell can fucking see us!” Pewds flipped off the camera. More and more claws began scratching at the metal door and the sound became loud enough for both of them to turn away from the camera and realize that they were screwed.
